THE MYSTERY SCHOOLS
(paperback $7.50 Add to Cart)

THE MYSTERY SCHOOLS by Grace F. Knoche. Behind the world's religions, philosophies, and sciences lies the hidden source of humanity's inner life and spiritual sustenance. Through the intellectual awakening of infant mankind millions of years ago, to the subsequent misuse of knowledge which led to the foundation of Mystery colleges by great sages and seers, The Mystery Schools traces this movement back to the earliest times. It describes the role of the brotherhood of adepts in discovering, disseminating, and preserving the truths of nature and man, and discusses the purposes and methods of the Mysteries, the pattern of esotericism, routes of initiation, and the Mystery schools today.

"A Mystery School is not dependant of location; rather it is the association of spiritually disciplined individuals bound by one common purpose, service to humanity, a service intelligently and compassionately rendered because born of love and wisdom"
Grace F. Knoche

THE SECRET DOCTRINE
in 3 vol sets

The Secret Doctrine / H. P. Blavatsky
Hardcover or Paperback
2 Vol. Set with invaluable 3rd Volume John Van Mater Index -

Continuously in print for over 100 years, the SD remains today the most comprehensive sourcebook of the esoteric tradition, outlining the fundamental tenets of the "Secret Doctrine of the Archaic Ages." Challenging, prophetic, and strikingly modern, it directly addresses the perennial questions: continuity of life after death, purpose of existence, good and evil, consciousness and substance, sexuality, karma, evolution, and human and planetary transformation. From the Preface - "The aim of this work may be thus stated: to show that Nature is not 'a fortuitous concurrence of atoms,' and to assign to man his rightful place in the scheme of the Universe; to rescue from degradation the archaic truths which are the basis of all religions; and to uncover, to some extent, the fundamental unity from which they all spring."  Based on the ancient Stanzas of Dzyan (see link below) with corroborating testimony from over 1,200 sources, these volumes unfold the drama of cosmic and human evolution -- from the reawakening of the gods after a "Night of the Universe" to the ultimate reunion of cosmos with its divine source. Supplementary sections discuss relevant scientific issues as well as the mystery language of myths, symbols, and allegories, helping the reader decipher the often abstruse imagery of the world's sacred literature. AN INVITATION TO THE SECRET DOCTRINE

$8.95 (paperback Add to Cart )

To those who would like to explore the essence of The Secret Doctrine, or who have had difficulty penetrating its two large volumes, An Invitation to The Secret Doctrine should prove welcome. Based on Blavatsky's study suggestions given to her personal students, it is a succinct and appealing statement of the SD's principal teachings in her own words. Included are the Bowen notes of HPB's comments, relevant pages from The Secret Doctrine, photographs of HPB's manuscript, a historical account of "The Writing of The Secret Doctrine" by Kirby Van Mater, and a glossary of terms.

THE MAHATMA LETTERS To A. P. Sinnett - Transcribed & Compiled by A. Trevor Barker. (Paperback $16.95 Add to Cart). This book, decades ago, inspired the formation of Wizards Bookshelf.

Preserved in the British Library, these letters were written between 1880 and 1884 to Alfred P. Sinnett, editor of a leading Anglo-Indian newspaper, The Pioneer. His correspondents were two Mahatmas whom Blavatsky has acknowledged as her teachers. First published in 1923, this important volume is filled with sublime philosophical and ethical instruction, revealing not only far-reaching concepts of religious and scientific thought (since proven in large degree prophetic), but also practicality, warmth of heart, patience, and ripeness of humor. These letters, moreover, yield a clearer understanding of H. P. Blavatsky, the early history of the TS, and of the Mahatmas' aim in fostering a real universal fraternity.

"The term 'Universal Brotherhood' is no idle phrase. Humanity in the mass has a paramount claim upon us. . . . If it be a dream, it is at least a noble one for mankind: and it is the aspiration of the true adept." -- p. 17

OCCULT GLOSSARY - G. de Purucker  - A Compendium of Oriental and Theosophical Terms (Paperback $11.95 Add to Cart)  -

Every branch of study has its special terminology, and theosophy is no exception. An invaluable textbook for the student, the Occult Glossary is a succinct and reliable aid in discerning the occult or "hidden" meaning of many Sanskrit, Greek, and technical terms used in theosophical literature. Second and Revised Edition.

FOUNTAIN-SOURCE OF OCCULTISM - G. de Purucker (Paperback $20.95 Add to Cart) -

The scope of teaching is vast: I - The Primeval Wisdom-Teaching / II - Discipline Precedes the Mysteries / III - Space and the Doctrine of Maya / IV - Galaxies and Solar Systems: their Genesis, Structure, and Destiny / V - Hierarchies and the Doctrine of Emanations / VI - Invisible Worlds and their Inhabitants / VII - The Doctrine of the Spheres / VIII - Gods - Monads - Life-Atoms / IX - Correlations of Cosmic and Human Constitutions / X - The Hierarchy of Compassion / XI - Death and the Circulations of the Cosmos -- I / XII - Death and the Circulations of the Cosmos -- II .  -  More than an exposition of teachings from The Secret Doctrine by H. P. Blavatsky, Fountain-Source addresses itself to all who sense the interrelatedness of human destiny with the cosmic design, who feel the call of the inward way, and take the ancient vow of service to humanity.

FUNDAMENTALS OF THE ESOTERIC PHILOSOPHY - G. de Purucker (Paperback $18.95 Add to Cart)  -

From 1924 to 1927 there were sponsored a series of private studies in The Secret Doctrine, with Dr. de Purucker as lecturer. This record of the meetings provides an excellent introduction to H. P. Blavatsky's masterwork, yet it stands on its own as a clear restatement of the philosophy expounded by all great thinkers and sages. Beginning with the three fundamental postulates of the SD, the presentation moves to cosmic and human evolution, with emphasis on the interconnectedness of all beings. Other topics include man's nature and destiny; avataras and buddhas; initiation, the Mysteries, and ethical values. Second and Revised Edition.

THEOSOPHY IN THE QABBALAH - Grace F. Knoche (Paperback $11.95 Add to Cart) -

What are the essential teachings of Qabbalah, the Jewish esoteric wisdom passed on for millennia from teacher to pupil? In this clear presentation, Grace F. Knoche concentrates on principal Qabbalistic themes: the emanation of the universe, the Sefirothal Tree of Life and its cosmic and human symbology, the Four Worlds of creation, the Four Adams or Heavenly Archetypes, and the composite structure of our being and its bearing on sleep, death, and initiation. To elucidate their meaning, the author compares Qabbalistic concepts and symbols with equivalents in modern theosophy, particularly in the works of H. P. Blavatsky and G. de Purucker, revealing Qabbalah as one stream of the universal wisdom tradition of mankind.

Written with the beginner in mind, it clarifies such topics as: the sevenfold nature of man; reincarnation and karma; dangers of psychic practices and the pitfalls of pseudo-occultism; earth's sevenfold being; cosmic and terrestrial cycles; afterdeath states; the existence of highly advanced human beings; and many more. THE BHAGAVAD GITA w/ ESSAYS ON THE GITA - W. Q. Judge recension
(Paperback $11.95 Add to Cart) -

The Bhagavad-Gita is probably the most influential work India has produced. In the form of a dialogue between its hero Arjuna and the avatara Krishna, this Hindu classic is an allegory of Man in his evolutionary development -- a searching look at the "field of dharma." In 1890, responding to many requests for a nonacademic exposition of the Gita, Judge published the present recension, and also wrote several illuminating essays on the Gita. These essays, issued together with his recension, make this volume unique among the many renditions of this ancient classic now available.

"There are many whose spiritual longing and philosophical inquiry are too sacred to be exposed among strangers or even among friends who they suspect may have entirely different views. The fact is, it is the written word that allows the student the privacy of his own thoughts, that gives rise to the most profound aspirations and the most intuitive insights. It is literature, then due to its im
